Querida Kim Kardashian,

Escrevo para dizer que adoro a tua celulite, o teu rabo. Não adoro todas as coisas pelas quais és tantas vezes chamada de perfeita ou de ícone – os teus lábios, a tua pele, as tuas mamas – adoro mesmo é a tua celulite e o facto de a mostrares mesmo sabendo que há sempre uma câmara apontada a ti e um povo sempre pronto a julgar.

Adoro a tua celulite porque a tua celulite é a minha celulite. A tua vontade de vestir umas cuecas reduzidas mesmo sem ter o rabo “perfeito” (alguém tem?) é, de facto, a minha vontade de vestir umas cuecas reduzidas com o meu rabo também “imperfeito”. A diferença é que, que eu saiba, não anda para aí gente a fotografar-me. Que sorte que eu tenho! A tua celulite é também a celulite da minha irmã, da minha mãe, das minhas amigas, da minha prima, da minha tia, das mulheres que eu mais gosto e que têm celulite, têm estrias, têm pneus, têm pelinhos. A tua celulite é a celulite da maioria, senão de todas as mulheres que vivem neste mundo e que fazem dele um lugar melhor para se viver. A tua celulite fotografada por um e criticada por tantos não é, na verdade, só uma questão de celulite. É uma questão de liberdade. Sim, liberdade. É a liberdade de termos o corpo que temos e de não termos vergonha dele. É a liberdade de escolher as cuecas que queremos usar. É a liberdade de ser mãe de um, de dois, de três e de não sentir necessidade de esconder as marcas de ter passado por essa experiência. É a liberdade de fazermos com o nosso corpo exatamente aquilo que queremos porque, afinal de contas, o nosso corpo é o nosso património, aquele que independentemente do que aconteça, há-de sempre pertencer-nos. É a liberdade de não querermos saber do que o mundo vai pensar. É a liberdade de nos querermos sentir sensuais, confortáveis e felizes. É a liberdade de viver sem pressões e, oh, é tão boa essa liberdade. 

Obrigada Kim, obrigada pela tua celulite. Porque independentemente de gostares dela ou não, não tens vergonha de a mostrar. Claro, claro que todas nós gostávamos de ter um rabo musculado e de pele lisa, de preferência sem pelinhos e outras coisas chatas. E quem diz um rabo, diz umas pernas ou uma barriga. Mas, não tendo, devemos ter vergonha dele? E porquê? Pelo que os outros vão pensar? Era só o que me faltava. O MEU rabo é MEU e ainda faço com ele aquilo que eu quiser. E eu, com celulite e com estrias no MEU rabo, quero passeá-lo pela praia com as cuecas que eu quiser, sem me preocupar com o que as pessoas estão a pensar dele. Quero ser mãe, ver acontecer, eventualmente, todas as alterações físicas que a experiência me irá trazer e continuar a não querer esconder o rabo, a barriga, as pernas, os braços. Porque, foda-se, é ou não é o MEU rabo, a MINHA barriga, as MINHAS pernas, os MEUS braços??

Opiniões, pessoas, toda a gente tem. Eu também as tenho, e também tenho uma opinião sobre o rabo da Kim. Mas não ando por aí a tentar chegar a essas pessoas para transmitir a minha opinião sem que elas me perguntem. “Se não tens palavras simpáticas para dizer, não devias dizer nada”, dizem os Maccabees em No Kind Words, e dizem tão bem!

Por isso mesmo, Kim, obrigada pela tua celulite. Obrigada por não a esconderes e por mostrares mais do que a cintura perfeita, os lábios bonitos, as pestanas longas, o cabelo penteado. O mundo era um lugar melhor se a celulite fosse apenas a celulite.

Quis o universo que duas das maravilhas da minha vida fizessem anos uma a seguir à outra, sem dar tempo ao coração daqueles que têm a sorte de ter as duas na vida, de respirar. Injustamente junto-as hoje no mesmo texto. Não porque não as queira juntas, mas porque cada uma delas é tão grande que merecia o seu próprio texto, as suas próprias letras. Mas agora agora o tempo não me permite e, acreditem, o amor é o mesmo. Fosse como fosse, nunca conseguiria caber em palavras o que cada uma delas é na minha vida.

Parabéns à minha Isabel. A minha pequena que frequentou tantas vezes a minha cama. Tomaste conta de mim como eu tomei conta de ti. Porque, se calhar, mesmo sem saberes, quando paravas lá em casa à procura de conforto, era eu a sortuda, a reconfortada. E há-de ser assim a vida toda, não necessariamente da mesma forma, mas o amor há-de ser o mesmo. Porque temos crescido e cresceremos com a vida e os nossos corações têm sabido e hão-de sempre saber adaptar-se às mudanças. Não é isso mesmo a amizade, o amor? Parabéns.

Universe wanted that two of the most important people in my life celebrated birthdays one after each other, without even giving time to the hearts of those that are lucky enough to have them both in their life, to breathe. Today I gather them on the same text, such an unfair thing. Not that I don’t want to see them both together, but because each one of the it’s so special that surely deserved her own text. However, right now, time doesn’t allow me to do such thing and, believe me, my love is the same. No matter what I could do, believe me: I could never fit in words what each one of them means to me.

To my Marta, happy birthday. The person that understands me when I have no words, that always knows when my heart needs to speak even when I don’t say a think and just shake my shoulders. Congratulations to my Isabel. My little miss that so many times slept in by bed. You took care of me, just like I took care of you. A toda a partida estão associadas, quer se queira, quer não, as despedidas. A cada despedida que ia tendo em Portugal, antes de partir para a Austrália, houve uma pergunta que nunca faltou. ‘Quando estás a pensar vir cá?’. Disse sempre que ‘para o ano’ voltaria e foram tantas, mas tantas as vezes que me disseram para ter calma, que não sabia como iam correr as coisas e não valia a pena estar a pensar em regressar já no próximo ano. Porque ‘é muito caro’ e ‘é muito longe’. E porque ‘é fácil dizer isso agora, mas nunca se sabe, a vida não é fácil’. E não, não é mesmo. Mas eu sabia que queria voltar dali a um ano, sabia que vindo para a Austrália, uma das minhas – nossas – prioridades, era arranjar forma de regressar por uns tempos para encher os pulmões e voltar à luta.

Assim, a 13 de agosto vamos meter-nos num avião rumo à China. Depois, rumo à Holanda. E depois rumo a Portugal. Sim, vamos no meu querido mês de agosto. Podia ser melhor? Saímos do inverno para o verão (vou chegar aí em modo fantasma, branquinha que nem), no mês mais agitado do país e, ainda por cima, em época de saldos, que é mesmo para poder levar um banho de loja como deve ser, que aqui na Austrália há pouco por onde se lhe pegue. 

Vamos estar no nosso hemisfério durante um bom tempo que é tanto e que, ao mesmo tempo, me parece tão pouco. Tão pouco para dividir por tanta gente, tanto sítio, tanta coisa para fazer. Tão pouco para dividir entre Lisboa, Vila Real e Coimbra. Entre tanta gente, tanta mesa de jantar, tanto plano. Assim de repente, dois meses parecem nada. Mas há que respirar fundo, bem fundo e ter calma. Sem pressão. Pelo meio voamos até á Grécia para conhecer, mas também para cumprir questões profissionais.

Faltam agora quatro meses para apanharmos o avião para a China, para a Holanda, para Portugal. Quatro meses que parece que nunca mais passam.

Wether you like it or not, when you leave, no matter where you go, you always have the moment to say goodbye. In each farewell we had in Portugal, before leaving for Australia, there was a question that no one failed asking. 'When are you thinking to come here?' I always said that ‘next year' I would come back and there were so many, but so many times that I was told to be calm, I did not know how things would go and that it was not worth thinking about returning next year. Because 'it's too expensive' and 'it's too far away'. And because 'it's easy to say it now, but you never know, life is not easy'. And no, it is not. But I knew I wanted to come back in a year, I knew that coming to Australia, one of my - our - priorities, would be to find a way back for a while to fill my lungs and get back into the fight.

So on August 13, we're going to get on a plane to China. Then another one to Netherlands. And then another one to Portugal. Yes, we’ll be going on August, the highlight month for all emigrants from Portugal. Could it be better? We will leave from winter to summer (I'm going to get there in ghost mode, not even white), in the busiest month of the country and, moreover, on sales season, which will allow me to take a store bath as it should be.

We'll be in our hemisphere for a while. A long time that seems so little. So little to divide by so many people, so many places, so much to do. So little to divide between Lisbon, Vila Real and Coimbra. Among so many people, so much dinner table, so much flat. So suddenly, two months seems nothing. But you must breathe deeply, deep and calm. No pressure. In the middle we flew to Greece to walk around, but also to fulfill professional matters.

We are now four months away from catching the plane to China, to the Netherlands, to Portugal. Four months that never seems to go by.

Alo? Ainda se lembram de mim?

Estive ausente, ausente durante uns bons tempos. Trabalhei, trabalhei e trabalhei durante as últimas semanas e precisei de não me preocupar com mais nada. E este blogue é só e apenas felicidade e não uma preocupação, por isso, se por uns dias tiver de me afastar, afasto-me e pronto. Ainda assim, prometo que também não houve nada de novo para contar. Mas estou de volta, e com grandes notícias!

Estava eu sossegada da vida quando abri hoje o computador e me deparei com as estatísticas aqui do estaminé.

Calma lá! Parou tudo! Como assim ultrapassámos às 100 mil visualizações e eu nem me apercebi disso? Cem mil, 100 000, 100 mil! Que grande número, hein? E eu só posso mesmo é ficar toda contente, com um sorriso de orelha a orelha por continuar a ter pessoas que visitam o estaminé e dedicam tempo – e paciência – a ler, a ver e a explorar esta viagem que, através deste blogue, também é vossa. Obrigada! É uma sensação do caraças receber o as críticas, os comentários e as observações de cada um de vocês, por isso, não se acanhem, sintam-se à vontade para fazer deste também o vosso canto.

Hello? Do you still remeber me’

I was away, away for some time. I worked and worked and worked during these past weeks and I really needed to focus and worry about nothing else. And this blogue is al about happiness and is not supposed to be any other thing to stress me out. If for any reason I have to step away, that’s what I’ll do. I promise that I had nothing new to talk about though. But I am back with great news!

I was super relaxed, just living my life when today, I opened my computer and saw the statistics of this corner. 

Easyyyyy! What do you mean, we reached 100 thousand views and I didn’t even noticed? One hundred thousand, 100 000, 100 thousand! What a big number, ah? I can only be happy with this, with a very big smile due to the fact that I still have people visiting my corner and dedicating time – and patience – reading, watching and exploring this journey that, through this blog, is also yours. Thank you! It’s an amazing feeling getting all the critics, the comments, the observations that each one of you make, so, don’t be shy and feel free to make this corner, your corner.

Hoje é a minha irmã a ‘menina dos anos’. A ‘menina’ porque por mais anos que passem – e por mais que ela seja mais velha do que eu – é e será sempre a menina. 

A menina com quem cresci. A menina com quem brinquei, a menina que me levava para o meio dos amigos dela com quem corríamos a aldeia onde crescemos. A menina com quem partilhei a cama durante anos e que me perguntava sempre, 10 minutos depois de apagar a luz, se já estava a dormir. A menina com quem cantava a música do João Pestana já debaixo dos lençóis. A menina com quem falei sobre as minhas primeiras desilusões, a quem pus as minhas primeiras questões de adolescente. A menina a quem roubei roupa de manhã bem cedo enquanto ela ainda dormia. A menina com quem desvendei tanta vez o esconderijo secreto onde a mãe guardava os presentes de Natal. A menina com quem aprendi a descolar a fita cola dos embrulhos para perceber o que ia estar por baixo do pinheiro iluminado – desculpa mamã. A menina que me contava sempre, com antecedência, o que ia ser o meu presente de aniversário ou de Natal – desculpem mamã e papá outra vez! A menina com quem virei e revirei a gaveta onde estavam guardadas as roupinhas do irmão que estava para nascer. A menina com quem mexi no primeiro computador, no primeiro gameboy. A menina com quem dancei Spice Girls, com quem aprendi que o Nick Carter era giro que se fartava e com quem vibrei a ouvir os Vengaboys. 

A menina a quem eu fiz o favor de lavar debaixo de água o piano cujas teclas tinham escritas as notas da música da Pequena Sereia – episódio que nunca será esquecido.

A menina que cresceu, ultrapassou barreiras e dificuldades, e se fez mulher. A menina por quem me meti numa sala de hospital de bata e touca, a quem dei a mão enquanto sofria com contrações e que deu ao mundo a outra menina, a mais bonita de todas. A menina que não para de sonhar, de querer fazer outras coisas.

Hoje é o dia da minha irmã, a ‘menina dos anos’. A menina que será sempre parte de mim. Porque não há forma de separar dois coraçõezinhos que cresceram juntos.

Today is my sister the ‘birthday girl’. The 'girl' because no matter how many years pass by - and even though she is older than me – she is and she will always be the ‘girl’.

The girl I stole clothes while she was still asleep. The girl with whom I uncovered the secret hiding place where our mother kept our Christmas presents. The girl with whom I learned how to take off the sticky tape from the wrap without no one noticing just to see what was inside - sorry mom. The girl who always told me what my birthday or Christmas present was going to be – sorry mom and dad, again! The girl with whom I turned and turned the drawer where the clothes of our brother who was about to be born were kept. The girl with who I explored the first computer, the first Gameboy. The girl with whom I danced Spice Girls, with whom I learned that Nick Carter was very cute and with whom I vibrated listening to the Vengaboys.

The girl to whom I washing under water the piano whose keys had written the notes of Little Mermaid’s song - an episode that will never be forgotten.

The girl who grew up, overcame barriers and difficulties, and became a woman. É maravilhoso trabalharmos exatamente naquilo que gostamos, ganharmos dinheiro com isso, e esse trabalho corresponder exatamente ao que somos, com todos os nossos defeitos e virtudes. É maravilhoso trabalharmos num emprego com o qual sempre sonhámos e que nos imaginamos a manter para o resto da vida, um emprego que nos dá garantias de nos fazer felizes – a nós próprios e às nossas carteiras – ao longo de todas as fases da vida, todas as evoluções. Um emprego que consiga levantar-nos da cama todos os dias com um sorriso na cara carregado de motivação, de ideias e de energia. 

É maravilhoso, de facto. Mas, afinal, quantos de nós conseguimos isso? Quantos de nós queremos isso? E quantos de nós vivemos numa pressão horrível para atingir isso?

Há uns meses conheci uma das pessoas que mais gozo me deu conhecer nos últimos tempos. Trabalhámos juntas numa loja de roupa. Perguntei-lhe o quê que ela fazia – porque a maior parte das pessoas que trabalha por aqui no retalho, trabalha a tempo parcial e, por isso, faz outras coisas para além do trabalho em lojas. Ela respondeu-me que era pintora. Pintora, pensei, que interessante. A conversa evoluiu e chegou a pontos de ela me explicar que era pintora, porque era isso que a definia, mas que não era daí que obtinha os seus rendimentos, mas sim das lojas em que ia trabalhando. Ainda assim, ela não era lojista, era pintora. Era pintora porque era isso que ela fazia de paixão. ‘Porque afinal de contas, a atividade de onde vem o dinheiro não tem de ser aquilo que tu és. O dinheiro é necessário para pagar contas, para viver, mas eu sou pintora, independentemente de ganhar ou não dinheiro com isso’. 

Sou pessoa de pensar muito sobre tudo. Analisar tudo e mais alguma coisa, mas, acreditem ou não, nunca tinha pensado nas coisas desta forma. Em tempos já tinha pensado e repetido para mim mesma, que o trabalho não era o que me definia enquanto pessoa. Trabalho é trabalho. Fora dele continuamos a ser pessoas, que gostam de outras coisas, que fazem outras coisas. 

Depois desta conversa, comecei a pensar no quê que eu própria sou. Já não sou jornalista, porque já não trabalho na área, se bem que ‘uma vez jornalista, para sempre jornalista’, porque há coisas que permanecem. Mas já não posso dizer que sou jornalista. Também não sou lojista, porque não me sinto lojista, embora adore a experiência que estou a ter. Também não sou assistente de investigação. Faço-o e gosto de o fazer, mas não é o que eu sou. O quê que eu sou? Acho que sou comunicadora, porque é exatamente isso que eu gosto de ser. Porque a comunicação é base da humanidade e pode ter mil e uma formas. Sou comunicadora. Porque a comunicação está presente em todo o lado, seja num trabalho de jornalismo, seja num trabalho de atendimento ao público, seja a escrever para as pessoas num blogue. No futuro, posso ser comunicadora a trabalhar com crianças, a gerir social media de grandes marcas, a escrever para um grande jornal ou uma grande revista, a ter a minha própria empresa de hotelaria, a trabalhar num restaurante, a ter a minha própria loja... quem sabe? 

Conheço tanta, tanta gente que não é (só, pelo menos) aquilo em que trabalha. Dou o exemplo da Marta, a minha Marta. É gestora de redes sociais das 09:00h às 19:00h – e é-o com todo o empenho -  mas no resto do tempo é Pasmar a Vista. No resto do tempo é criatividade, é amor, é uma casa recheada de pedaços que ela própria fez, que ela própria construiu. Se isso lhe dá dinheiro? Nem por isso. Mas aposto que é o que faz de coração e alma. 

E vocês, o que são?

It’s wonderful to work exactly on what we love, win money with that, with a job that exactly corresponds to what we are, with all our best and worst things. It’s wonderful having a job with which we dreamed all life and on which we can imagine ourselves working for the resto f our lives. It’s wonderful having a job that gives us all the guarantees of making us happy – and our wallets – through all the life stages, all the evolutions. A job that is capable of making us get out of bed every morning with a smile on our faces, charged with motivation, ideas and energy. 

It’s wonderful, indeed. But, after all, how many of us can achieve that’ how many of us want to achieve that? And how many of us live under pressure to achieve that?

Four or five months ago I met such a special girl. We worked together on retail. I asked her about her life, what she was doing in her life – because most of the people in retail have also other jobs. She told me that she was a painter. Painter, I thought, how interesting. Our conversations evolved and she explained to me that she was a painter because that’s the job that defines her, however, that is not the job from where she gets money. She gets, or she got, money from the stores she worked at. But she was a painter, because that is what she does with her heart, she is not a retail assistant. ‘Because, after all, the activity from where your money comes from doesn’t have to have anything to do with who you are. Money is necessary to pay bills, to live. But I’m a painter and it doesn’t matter if I do or don’t get money with it.’

Usually, I think a lot about things but, believe it or not, I never thought about this this way. in the past, I had already thought and repeated to myself that my job didn’t define me as a person. A job is just a job. Away from it, we are still people that love doing other things.

After this conversation, I started thinking to myself ‘who am I?’ I’m not a journalist anymore, because I’m not working in this area, even though ‘once a journalist, forever a journalist’. Some things remain, but I can’t say I’m still a journalist. I’m not a retail assistant, because I don’t feel that way, even though I’m loving this experience. I’m not also a research assistant. I like it, but it’s not who I am. What am I? I think I am a Communicator, because that’s exactly what I like to be. Because communication is the basis of everything and may have one thousand different shapes. I’m a Communicator. Communication is everywhere, in journalism, in any public service, writing on a blog. In the future, I can be a Communicator working with kids, managing social media of big brands, writing on a newspaper, having my own hospitality company, working on a restaurant, having my own store... who knows?

I know so many people that are not (only) what they do. Marta, my Marta, for example. Marta is a social media manager from 09:00h to 19:00h but, in the rest of the time, she is Pasmar a Vista. In the rest of the time, she is creativity, love, a house full of little pieces that she made by herself, that she built. If that gives her Money. Not really. But I bet that that is what she does with all her heart and soul.

FELIZ ANIVERSÁRIO

(Amo tanto, tanto este ser humano. Não conheço ninguém tão justo, tão claro, tão simples, tão honesto e tão trabalhador como ele. Não conheço ninguém que ame como ele. E por ele me vou apaixonando, um dia atrás do outro, atrás do outro, atrás do outro... sem cansar. E tenho sempre vontade de amar mais e de fazer mais. Não é meu o mérito, é dele, que é o meu ser humano favorito. O melhor ser humano que eu já conheci.)

Amiguinhos, tenho mesmo um enorme pedido a fazer-vos. Olhem que é assunto sério, não se ponham para aí a gozar. 

É que esta coisa de emigrar é muito bonita. É muito engraçado ficar afastado do nosso país uns tempos, aprender umas coisas, viajar, e tal. Mas nem tudo são rosas. Sabem o quê que acontece quando ficamos muito tempo afastados do país onde temos a família e os amigos? Paramos no tempo. 

Pensei nisto há uns dias, durante uma viagem de comboio super introspetiva. É que eu sou pessoa de gostar de falar e de escrever português do bom, mas de vez em quando, como a maioria de todos nós, acrescento aquela gíria que já é mais automática do que desejada. E a modos que o ‘bué’ está sempre lá. Não sei de onde veio, não sei como é que se colou a mim, mas veio para ficar (mais ou menos como o meu namorado, vá – ESTOU A BRINCAR FOFINHO DE SUA NAMORADA), e vai daí que há uns dias dei por mim a pensar: ‘será que esta expressão ainda se usa ou eu é que parei no tempo?’.

É que não quero ser daquelas pessoas que usam expressões que não se dizem, sei lá... há uns seis meses! Como por exemplo ‘totil’ que não se usa desde a terceira temporada de Morangos Com Açúcar. Ou ‘baril’, uma expressão totalmente primavera/verão 2013. Ou até mesmo ‘bacana’ que de certeza veio de Malhação. 

Até me causa arrepios pensar que posso vir a ser aquela amiga ou aquela irmã que chega a Portugal, abre a boca e põe toda a gente a revirar os olhos e a pensar: ‘tadinha, parou no tempo e ainda acha que aquela expressão tem qualquer tipo de piada’. Assim de repente não estou a ver maior flagelo na minha vida do que vir a ser uma dessas pessoas. 

Posto isto, amiguinhos, como não estou em Portugal para acompanhar as novas tendências de perto e em tempo real, o meu pedido é: por favor, se um dia ‘bué’ se deixar de usar (ou se já não se usar de todo) avisem o pessoal aqui deste lado e, já agora, vão atualizando sobre as novas expressões, que eu não quero chegar a Portugal e ter dificuldades de comunicação – já chega aqui.

My friends, I’ve got an important thing to ask you. This is a serious matter, pay attention to it. 

The thing is that, emigrating it’s very nice. Being away from our country, learning a lor, travelling… But it’s not all about roses and sweat things. You know what happens when we stay a lot of time away from our country, our family and friends? We stop in time. 

I thought about this some days ago, during an introspective train trip. I really like to speak and write good Portuguese but, sometimes, I use those weird expressions we all do and that come out of my mouth in an automatic way. ‘Bué’ an expressions that means ‘a lot’, is always there. I don’t know where it came from, how it got attached to me, but I know it’s here to stay (just like my boyfriend – I’m joking sweetie), and some days ago I just started thinking: ‘are people still using this expression or did I stop in time?’.

I don’t wanna be one of those people that still uses those expressions that no one says anymore, those 2013 spring/summer expressions. 

It gives me bad dreams just thinking that I can turn into that friend or sister or whatever that arrives in Portugal, opens her mouth and all that comes of are unfashion expressions, that make others think like: ‘oh poor girl, she stopped in time and still thinks that what she’s saying is funny’. I can’t imagine a worst thing to happen in my life.

As that, friends, as I am not in Portugal listening the newest expressions that everybody says, I would like to ask you this: please, please advise me is ‘bué’ gets away of the market and just tell us about the latest expressions that everybody uses. I don’t wanna go back to Portugal and have communication issues – it’s enough to have them here.

Antes de prosseguirem a leitura, tenham atenção. Há sarcasmo neste texto, aos baldes. 

Erros ortográficos. Ah, há tanto a dizer sobre eles. 

Adoro erros ortográficos, a sério que adoro. Especialmente quando acontecem pelas redes sociais, vindos daquelas pessoas que se têm mesmo numa boa conta, que se põem num patamar de espetacularidade acima da média, que adoram criticar a pouca inteligência dos comuns mortais. E depois, acontece o dia em que estamos nós a deslizar os dedos pelo 'feed' do Facebook e de repente, taaaa-daaaaa, aparece-nos um ‘à dois anos´ capaz de nos fazer arrepiar a espinha, a legendar uma fotografia ao estilo apanhada desprevenida, qual tiro no próprio pé a sangue frio. Gosto mesmo destas pessoas, a sério. Tenho-lhes um carinho especial porque penso sempre qualquer coisa como ‘andas aí de nariz empinado a pensar que és a última coca-cola do deserto, mas eu sei, eu sei o que escreveste no Facebook ontem à noite... e tenho pena’. 

É que não estamos a falar de gralhas, daquelas transformações que os corretores automáticos adoram fazer ou até mesmo daqueles erros que uma pessoa dá quando já escreveu páginas e páginas de texto e já tem os olhos trocados. Não. Estamos a falar de pessoas que, de facto, vivem na zona cinzenta da vida - ou da ortografia - e que, na dúvida sobre como escrever uma palavra, não vão ao dicionário ou ao raio do Google ver como se escreve corretamente - até porque estas pessoas nunca têm dúvidas, diga-se. Estas pessoas avançam e optam por mostrar ao mundo que os neurónios já são suficientemente úteis se servirem apenas para ocupar espaço no cérebro.

Eu sei que já não é Natal, mas eu quero que o mundo seja um lugar melhor para se viver em qualquer altura do ano e por isso, amiguinhos, resolvi fazer uma lista daqueles erros ortográficos que dominam o feed do Facebook e que conseguem destruir a reputação de uma pessoa!

1. À / Há

O rei dos erros ortográficos. A sério, pessoas, ninguém vos consegue dar qualquer tipo de credibilidade se disserem: “À duas horas estive a beber café com o Bradley Cooper”. NINGUÉM. Coloquem um ‘h’ sempre que se querem referir a um espaço de tempo. Se me disserem que HÁ duas horas estiveram a beber café com o Bradley Cooper eu até sou capaz de acreditar. 

Outra coisa, todo o há que consiga ser substituído pelo verbo ‘haver’ ou ‘existir’, leva um ‘h’. “Há várias maneiras de dizer a mesma coisa”.

2. Na minha opinião pessoal

Eu sei que há personalidades do caraças, mas a tua opinião havia de ser de quem? Redundâncias não são bem erros, eu sei. Mas... vocês dizem “subir para cima” ou “descer para baixo”? Então deixem de dizer que a vossa opinião é pessoal. A menos que sejam o Fernando Pessoa. O Fernando Pessoa podia. 

3. Ás / Às

Os únicos Ás que há nesta vida é o de espadas, o de paus, o de ouros e o de copas. Se queremos dizer que a reunião durou um certo tempo, por exemplo, então dizemos que foi “das 14h às 15h”. 

4. Fala-se / Falasse

Há erros que conseguimos evitar se lermos aquilo que estamos a escrever. 

Fala-se trata-se de uma situação presente: “Fala-se que vai cair em breve uma nave espacial em cima do Estádio de Alvalade”. 

Falasse refere-se a uma situação provável: “Se se falasse mais sobre este assunto, havia menos gente a fazer figura de idiota”. 

Deu para perceber?

Dito isto, e como o karma é uma coisa complicada, aposto que nos próximos textos que escrever me vou sair com um belo erro ortográfico, daqueles assim de fazer arrepiar, só para dar o exemplo. Qualquer coisa, apitem! Mas para que fique registado: a sério que eu não me acho a última coca-cola do deserto!

I could say that it’s almost impossible to translate this post. Why? Because it’s all about writing in Portuguese and, mostly, it’s about those mistakes people usually make when writing on Facebook or any kind of social network. It’s about those who think that they are cleverer than others, the last Coca-Cola on desert, and then, they go to Facebook and post something with 3 words and five mistakes. 

We are not talking about little mistakes, mistakes you make after writing pages and pages of text. We are talking about mistakes people make because, even though they are rude to others, thinking that they run the world, they don’t even know how to write properly in their own language.

I really, really love to find those kind of mistakes on social networks. See all these ‘brains’ and think: “You’re acting with that rude attitude but, my friend, I know what you wrote yesterday on Facebook, and it wasn’t pretty”. 

But I am a good soul, believe me, I am. And even if it’s not Christmas anymore, I really what the world to be a better place at any time of the year. As that, I made a list of four mistakes that can kill the reputation of a Portuguese mate. 

And, as I know Karma is a trouble maker, I am sure that, on my next posts, you will find a bunch of mistakes. Let me know, then. But, my friends, let me just tell you this: I don’t think I am the last Coca-Cola of the desert.

Casa. Tenho a minha própria casa. Acho que ainda não consigo acreditar bem e só agora, agora que tenho a minha própria casa aqui na Austrália, o meu próprio canto, é que percebo que já não há volta a dar, não há como regressar aos velhos hábitos de faculdade em que partilhávamos a sala, a cozinha e se fosse preciso o quarto com meia dúzia de pessoas. Foram bons hábitos esses e tenho a certeza que fiz amigos para a vida a viver assim. Fui feliz, mas a vida evolui e de repente damos por nós a querer outras coisas, a desejar ter um espaço onde possamos ser nós próprios. A desejar chegar a casa, tirar o sutiã e existir na liberdade de sermos só nós e a (ou as) pessoa (ou pessoas) com quem escolhemos viver a nossa intimidade. Queremos só respirar e ser felizes, sem gestão. 

As nossas mudanças começaram devagar. Começámos por encher as primeiras malas com roupas de inverno que não estávamos a usar e, de repente, dois dias depois, já tínhamos tudo o que era nosso em caixas e malas espalhadas pelo quarto que nos pertencia (ainda). Há uma semana e um dia, acordámos e enchemos uma carrinha que decidimos alugar para transportar a materialização das nossas vidas até ao nosso novo mundo. No mesmo dia assinámos o contrato de arrendamento e, finalmente, abrimos pela primeira vez a porta daquela que é hoje a nossa casa. Esfrega daqui, lava dali, arruma assim, arranja assado... deu trabalho e não posso dizer que adorei a casa à primeira. É sempre uma luta fazermos nossa a casa que há uma semana era de outra pessoa. Tirar os cheiros, as marcas. Mas conseguimos.

Home. I have my own house. I think I still can’t believe it and only now, now that I have my own home, my own corner here in Australia, I can realize that there is no return, there is no way back to the old habits of college in which we shared the living room, the kitchen and the room if we needed to with half a dozen people. These were good habits and I'm sure I made friends for life living like this. I was happy, but life evolves and we suddenly find ourselves wanting other things, wanting to have a space where we can be ourselves. Wishing to get home, take off the bra and exist in the freedom to be just us and the person (or people) with whom we choose to live our intimacy. We just want to breathe and be happy without management.

Our moving started slowly. We started by stuffing the first suitcases with winter clothes that we were not wearing, and then, two days later, we already had everything that belonged to us in boxes and suitcases scattered around the room that still belonged to us. A week and a day ago we woke up and filled up a van that we decided to rent to transport the materialization of our lives to our new world. On the same day we signed the lease agreement and finally opened for the first time the door of what is now our home. Scrubs from here, washes from there, arranges like that, organizes like this ... it gave us a hard time and I can’t say that I loved the house the first time I got in to it. It's always a struggle to make ours a home that a week before was from someone else. Take away the smells, the marks. But we did.

Aqui, ainda no antigo quarto, em desmontagens. Dica de amiga: quando comprarem coisas do Ikea que impliquem longos processos de montagem, guardem os manuais de instruções, para a eventualidade de precisarem de desmontar os móveis e voltar a montá-los.  

Na terça-feira passada corremos ao Ikea para comprar algumas coisas que estavam em falta. Tenho sempre sentimentos dúbios em relação ao Ikea. Se por um lado, quando lá entro, me sinto o Tom de 500 Dias de Summer, cheia de expectativas e com um sorriso na cara de orelha a orelha, por outro saio sempre de lá completamente de rastos, a desejar enfardar três hambúrgueres com tudo. Claro está que chegámos a casa com mais sacos do que imaginámos inicialmente, mas com pedaços da casa que andámos a imaginar durante semanas. Falta-nos o tapete da sala, que estava esgotado.

Para esta casa, para a sala e a cozinha, decidimos desta vez pelo amarelo. Amarelos entre os cinzentos e brancos. No quarto e casa de banho mantivemos o azul claro e o verde-água de antes. Amarelo porquê? Não sei bem. Nunca adorei a cor, mas nestes últimos tempos acho que me fui apaixonando por um certo tom de amarelo que me transmite felicidade e energia.

Last Tuesday we ran to Ikea to buy some things that were missing. I always have mixed feelings about Ikea. If in one hand, when I go in there, I feel like Tom from 500 Days of Summer, full of expectations and with a smile in the face from ear to ear, on the other, I always leave Ikea completely tired, wishing to eat three hamburgers with everything in them.

Of course we got home with more bags than we initially thought, but with pieces of the house we've been imagining for weeks. We’re only missing a rug for the living room, which was out of stock but it’s coming soon.

For this house, for the living room and the kitchen, we decided this time for the yellow. Yellows among the grey and white. In the bedroom and bathroom we kept the light blue and green-water from before. Why yellow? I do not know. I've never loved the colour, but in recent times I think I've fallen in love with a certain tone of yellow that gives me happiness and energy.

Acho que comecei a sentir que a casa número 13 daquele prédio à beira-mar era minha quando nela cozinhei pela primeira vez, um arroz de peixe que é a especialidade do J, mas que por incrível que pareça naquela noite saiu bem nas minhas mãos.

Uma semana depois – ainda sem internet e por isso também tanto tempo ausente sem dar notícias, sem tempo para trazer o computador para um local com rede, como hoje – a casa é minha, é nossa. Não é da pessoa que lá vivia há duas ou três semanas. Tem as nossas coisas, a nossa logística. Os nossos cheiros, as nossas velas, as nossas cores e a nossa energia. Tem a nossa coluna e a nossa andorinha. Os nossos livros e as nossas revistas. Tem a nossa mesa na varanda. É pequena, mas acolhe e convida a almoçar, a jantar, a estar, devagar, sem pressa, a observar o mar e os papagaios que se pousam nas grades da varanda, sem fugir, como se nos conhecessem e não tivessem medo de nós. 

É uma casa que pede um biquíni e um cabelo despreocupado. 

Agora é viver a casa, devagar, curti-la, e ser feliz.

I think I began to feel that the house number 13 of that beachfront building was mine when I cooked in there for the first time, a fish rice that is J's specialty, but incredible as it may seem that night it came out right in my hands.

A week later - still without internet and therefore also so much time away without giving news, no time to bring the computer to a place with network, as today - it's my house, it's ours. It is not the person who lived there two or three weeks ago. There’s our things, our logistics. Our smells, our candles, our colours and our energy. There's our speaker and our swallow. Our books and our magazines. There's our table on the porch. It is small, but it welcomes and invites people to have lunch, dinner, to be, slowly, without haste, to observe the sea and the parrots that come to the grills of the balcony, without fleeing, as if they knew us and they were not afraid of us. 

It's a house that asks for a bikini and a messed hair.

Now it's living the house, slowly, liking it, and being happy.

É de bravo não apagarmos a existência de uma pessoa e a importância que ela tem, por esta estar fisicamente ausente. É de bravo. Porque amar e cuidar à distância é mais difícil do que amar e cuidar de pertinho. E às vezes nem o amor que é tão verdadeiro sustenta a distância. Porque dá trabalho, porque é exigente, porque põe à prova. 

A minha família e os meus amigos são bravos. E eu sou só grata porque estou, não estando. 

É que emigrar é muito mais do que a dificuldade de enfiar a vida em duas malas e viajar durante muitas horas. Emigrar traz dúvidas e medos, mesmo aqueles que temos para nós que são ridículos. Acho que todos os que partem têm, de uma forma ou de outra, medo de perder. Medo de perder o cuidado da família, a atenção dos amigos. Medo de perder o amor em que sempre vivemos. Eu tenho medo, ou tinha, não sei bem. Porque todos os dias a minha família e os meus amigos me fazem questão de mostrar que estou perto, não estando. Eles são bravos! E eu sou grata.

Only the brave are capable of not deleting a person and its importance because of being physically away. Only the brave. Because loving and taking care when people are far away is so much harder that loving and taking care of someone who’s close. And sometimes, not even love that seems to be true can handle distance. Because it’s demanding, give you a hard time, puts you on proof. 

My family and my friends are brave. And I am only grateful because I am there, not being. 

Emigrating is so much more that putting you life in two bags and travel during many hours. Emigrating brings you doubts and fears, even those that we know that make no sense. I think that all the people that leave feel the fear of losing, one way or another. Fear of losing the care of the family, the attention of the friends. Fear of losing the love we have always lived with. I have fear, or had, I don’t really know. Because every single day, my family and my friends show me that I am close, not being. They’re brave. And I’m grateful.

Contei-vos já aqui que resolvi passar o dia do meu aniversário a explorar. Foi a solução que arranjámos para não pensar em nada, nem em saudades nem em distância, e concentrarmo-nos em algo feliz, numa nova experiência que se revelou uma enorme surpresa e que acrescentou tanto a esta aventura que temos vivido pela Austrália. Falei-vos da visita ao Booderee Natural Park e das praias maravilhosas que por lá encontrámos, mas não vos falei da paragem que fizemos pelo caminho em Kiama. 

Ora, Kiama é uma pequena cidade em NSW a 40 km de Wollongong e a 121 km de Sydney. Tem uma paisagem maravilhosa e, por isso, marcámos a cidade como um ponto de paragem durante a viagem para passear um bocadinho e beber um café. Não estivemos por lá mais de meia hora, até porque penso que há muito pouco para visitar para além da zona da costa que só por si mereceu a visita. Ficam as fotos!

I already told you here that I decided to spend my birthday exploring. This was the solution we found for not thinking about how we miss our families and the distance to Portugal, so we focused on something happy, a new experience that revealed to be a great surprise that made our Australian adventure even better. I told you about the visit to Booderee Natural Park and all the beautiful beaches we found there but I didn’t tell you about the stop we made during the trip in Kiama. 

Well, Kiama is a small town in NSW, 40 km away from Wollongong and 121 km away from Sydney. Kiama has a gorgeous landscape and, as that, we decided to stop there to walk around and have a coffee during our trip to Jervis Bay. We weren’t the for more than half an hour and I think that there are not many places to visit there besides the coast. I’ll leave you with the photos we took!

Tinha algum receio sobre o que seria o meu aniversário longe. Longe da família e dos amigos com quem sempre partilhei este dia. Longe do meu espaço, da minha casa, dos cozinhados da minha mãe, da lareira, do frio. Tinha receio de estar longe, de acordar e de me desfazer em lágrimas quando percebesse que, efetivamente, não tinha a minha família e os meus amigos a poucos quilómetros de distância. 

Por isso mesmo, há várias semanas, pensei com o J num plano. Um plano para me fizesse esquecer de me lembrar das saudades. Um plano tão simples quanto alugar um carro e sair de manhã pela fresca estrada fora, à procura de um pedaço de paraíso qualquer nesta ilha. 

Tinha em mente ir até Jervis Bay onde iria encontrar a ‘praia mais branca da Austrália’ como me tinham prometido. Percorremos cerca de 100 km a partir de Wollongong com o GPS a guiar-nos por caminhos cada vez mais desertos. A certo ponto, já perto do local de chegada indicado pelo telemóvel, demos de caras com umas cancelas e com um porteiro para entrar no Booderee National Park (Parque Nacional Booderee). ‘Mas eu só quero ir à praia!’ disse eu enquanto o J entregava 11 dólares ao senhor para passar as barreiras do paraíso. Passados uns 20 minutos percebi que aqueles 11 dólares foram o dinheiro que melhor empreguei desde que cheguei à Austrália. 

O Booderee National Park é enorme. Tem uma estrada principal que atravessa o parque e a cada cortada damos de caras com uma paisagem de cortar a respiração. As praias, com água límpida e areia branca e fina, são incríveis! Estar ali fez-me ter a sensação que conhecia tão pouco deste mundo até aquele momento e que há ainda tanto por descobrir.

Embora a zona de Jervis Bay seja bastante conhecida por aqui e muito concorrida por surfistas, o Booderee National Park não é uma zona mantida a pensar no turista. É um pedaço de paraíso oferecido e mantido pela natureza. Não há comércio dirigido ao visitante. Aliás, é difícil encontrar um sítio para comprar uma garrafa de água. Vi apenas um minimercado que serve a população que ali reside e nada mais. 

Ah e os cangurus! Vimos imensos cangurus no habitat natural à distância de um palmo! Nada melhor do que mostrar-vos as fotografias e verem com os vossos próprios olhos.

I had some fear about what my birthday would be far away. Away from family and friends with whom I have always shared this day. Away from my space, from my house, from my mother's cooking, from the fireplace, from the cold. I was afraid of being away, of waking up and falling apart in tears when I realized that I did not actually have my family and my friends a few miles away.

That's why, several weeks ago, me and J thought about a plan. A plan to make me forget to remember my homesickness. A plan as simple as renting a car and leaving in the morning to the road, looking for a piece of paradise on this island.I had in mind to go to Jervis Bay where I would find the 'whitest beach in Australia' as I had been promised. We traveled about 100 km from Wollongong, with the GPS guiding us through increasingly deserted paths. At a certain point, already near the place of arrival indicated by the mobile phone, we saw some gates and a porter at the enter of the Booderee National Park. 'But I just want to go to the beach!' I said as J handed $ 11 to that man to pass the barriers of paradise. After about 20 minutes I realized that those 11 $ were the money that I used the best since I arrived in Australia.

The Booderee National Park is huge. It has a main road that crosses the park and at each crossing road, we found a beautiful landscape. The beaches, with clear water and fine white sand, are incredible! Being there made me feel that I knew so little of this world until that moment and that there is still so much to discover.

Although the area of ​​Jervis Bay is well known here and very crowded by surfers, the Booderee National Park is not a tourist preserve. It is a piece of paradise offered and maintained by nature. There is no trade directed to the visitor. In fact, it is difficult to find a place to buy a bottle of water. I saw only a mini-market that serves the population that lives there and nothing else. Oh and the kangaroos! We saw lots of kangaroos in the natural habitat so close to us! Nothing better than showing you the photos and seeing with your own eyes.

Comecei os 25 melhor do que imaginei poder começar. À procura de uma praia demos de caras com pedaço de paraíso que não se cansou de nos surpreender a cada quilómetro. E ao J... ao J a minha gratidão por ser a melhor companhia para todos os trilhos.

Não é que me tenha esquecido das saudades - é impossível esquecermos ou ignorarmos um sentimento do tamanho de um elefante que mora dentro de nós – mas consegui senti-las como uma sorte. Porque é de facto uma sorte ter na minha vida as pessoas que tenho, que não se deixam abalar pela distância física e se colocaram perto ontem e sempre.

I started the 25 better than I thought I could start. Looking for a beach, we found a piece of paradise that surprised us every mile. And to J ... to J my gratitude for being the best company for all the rails.

It's not that I've forgotten my homesickness-it's impossible to forget or ignore a feeling the size of an elephant that lives inside us-but I managed to feel them as luck. Because it is indeed fortunate to have in my life the people I have, who do not allow themselves to be shaken by their physical distance and kept close yesterday and always.

“Vens à SIC hoje? Podes vir connosco!” 

Foi a primeira frase que lhe ouvi, o primeiro convite, a primeira proposta, há mais de uma mão cheia de anos atrás. Estávamos no primeiro ano de licenciatura em Ciências da Comunicação e eu tinha acabado de ser transferida de outro curso e, no meio de tanta gente nova, sentia-me um peixe fora de água. Foi ela, a miúda que usava aqueles ténis abertos no calcanhar tipo chinelo, que veio ter comigo, com um convite que mudaria a minha vida. Depois de trocarmos as primeiras palavras, acho que nunca mais nos largámos. Descobrimos juntas que a faculdade não era pera doce mas que, na verdade, se fazia com uma perna às costas no intervalo de saídas à noite produtivas e de imperiais na esplanada que sabiam a mel. Descobrimos juntas que o que não era fácil, era viver longe dos pais, mas que para este mal, o remédio era termo-nos uma à outra e que, à falta de melhor, havia sempre uma massa com natas, bacon e queijo e uma manta para aquecer o coração. Descobrimos que o que não era fácil era o amor, que nessa altura ia e vinha com a facilidade do vento. Descobrimos que o que não era fácil era ser adulta. Crescemos e juntas começámos a traçar sonhos e a palmilhar o árduo caminho entre o estágio e as aulas da faculdade a que acabávamos por não ir. Terminámos a faculdade, chorámos o que tínhamos a chorar cheias de felicidade nos corações, fizemo-nos mulheres e fomos à luta. Procurámos trabalho, revirámos o mundo e encontrámos soluções, profissões, paixões. Crescemos, deste-me a conhecer o amor da minha vida e apoiaste as minhas mais recentes decisões mesmo que isso custasse a minha presença aí, onde tu estás. 

Não foi sempre fácil – mas haveria alguma possibilidade de o ser entre duas mulheres de fibra? E também não é fácil ser adulta. Não é que gostássemos de ter menos obrigações, menos projetos, que muitas vezes nos separam fisicamente. Gostávamos só de ter dias com 40 horas para nos sentarmos a uma mesa e nos ouvirmos, nos partilharmos e sermos. E hoje, hoje, gostávamos só de ter uma nave espacial supersónica que me pusesse a jantar contigo num pedacinho. Hoje, que é o teu aniversário e eu não estou por perto. Ainda assim, estou perto o suficiente para saberes que o meu amor por ti não tem fim. Apazigua-nos o coração saber que hoje eu não estou aí mas que teremos mais, no mínimo, 80 aniversários para partilhar juntas. 

Parabéns minha bomboca, a mais escurinha – e, por isso, a mais parecida comigo – a que tem as bochechas mais fofas, a determinada e que luta, todos os dias pela verdade não só mas também desportiva. A que tem tanto medo de crocodilos, como de cães, como de cogumelos, como de bananas. Parabéns, minha boboca <3

“Are you coming to SIC today? You can come with us!”

This was the first sentence she told me, the first invitation, the first proposal, more than a hand full of years ago. We were in the first year of university and I had just been transferred from another course and was feeling like an outsider. She, the girl that usually wore those open-toe sneakers, came up to me with an invitation that would change my life. We never separated after exchanging our first words. Together, we found that university was not that easy, but that, actually, we could do it with a leg on our back in the interval of going out at night and drinking beer on the esplanade. Together, we discovered that it was not easy to live away from our parents but that we had each other, and a pasta full of cream, bacon and cheese and a blanket to warm our hearts. We discovered that love was not easy, specially at that time, when it kept coming and going. Together, we discovered that being an adult was not easy. We grew up and together we started to dream and walking the tough way between the internship and college classes we ended up not going to. We finished university, we cried all we had to cry, full of happiness in our hearts, we became women and went fighting. We searched for a job, turned the world upside down and found solutions, professions, passions. We grew up, you showed me the love of my life and supported all my decisions even when they made you deny my company there, where you are. 

It wasn’t easy all the time – but, was there any chance of being easy with two fibre women? And it’s not easy being an adult. Not that we would like to have less obligations, less projects, that often separate us physically. We just wanted to have 40 hours’ days to sit down at the table and listen, share and be. And today, today, we just wanted to have a supersonic spacecraft that could put me having dinner with you in a few minutes. Today, it’s your birthday and I’m not around. Still, I’m close enough for you to know that my love for you is endless. It soothes our hearts to know that I am not there today, but we will have at least 80 more birthdays to share. 

Congratulations my pumpkin, the tanned one - and, therefore, the most similar to me – that has the most awesome cheeks, the determined and the fighter for the not only but also sportive truth. The one that is as afraid of crocodiles, as she is of dogs, mushrooms and bananas. Happy birthday my love <3
