Quer dizer, na prática ainda não temos casa nenhuma porque continuamos a viver no pequeno quarto da casa que invadimos assim que chegámos à Austrália (obrigada!!) e onde temos sido tão bem tratados. Mas... a grande novidade é que finalmente fomos aceites para alugar um apartamento em Wollongong. Longa esta luta para conseguir uma casinha. E esta é assim perfeita. De certa forma, a casa que conseguimos alugar compensou a espera.

Há algum tempo percebemos que, no mesmo prédio e no mesmo andar da casa da R, onde atualmente estamos a viver, iria ficar vago e disponível para aluguer um apartamento semelhante a este. Paredes brancas, chão cinzento, cozinha pequena mas moderna, casas de banho impecáveis. Varandas grande e redes de proteção nas janelas para evitar a entrada de vida animal indesejada já incluídas. Na semana passada concorremos ao aluguer do imóvel e fizemos a primeira visita. Ficámos apaixonados. A casa era ainda maior que a da R. Saí da visita, 'inspection' como lhes chamam, convencida que conseguiríamos alugar o apartamento. Dias depois, a resposta final chegou: a casa é nossa! Podemos mudar de malas e bagagens a partir de segunda-feira, dia 29 de agosto. 

Naquele apartamento seremos quatro pessoas a viver. Eu e o J e mais dois amigos portugueses. No total, no terceiro andar no número 88 da Smith Street de Wollongong seremos sete portugueses a viver. Boas festas se farão. As perspectivas de vir a emagrecer é que começam a dissipar-se. Que se lixe! Dividir casa não é uma situação ideal, no entanto, optámos todos por o fazer até conseguirmos ganhar alguma estabilidade financeira por cá. Os benefícios são muitos: dividimos despesas, ambientamo-nos ao país e à cidade com companhia portuguesa e mantemos um ambiente familiar que ajuda a suportar as saudades. 

A uma semana de nos mudarmos definitivamente para aquela que será a nossa casa, fazemos listas. Listas e mais listas. Listas de coisas a comprar para o quarto e para a casa de banho que ficaram destinadas para mim e para o J, listas de coisas a comprar para as zonas comuns. Felizmente temos todos os mesmos gostos e não me parece que as comadres se zanguem antes de começarem sequer a viver juntas. Listas de serviços como luz, gás e internet a contratar. Curiosidade: sabiam que por cá a água não se paga? Menos uma preocupação. 

Nas próximas semanas, quando já estiver tudo mais organizado, partilho com todos imagens da casa! Por aqui, mais uma batalha vencida. Venham mais!

I mean, we don't really have a house bacause we are still living in the small room of the house we invaded as soon as we get to Australia (thank you!) and where we have been so well treated. But... the big news is that we finnaly got acepted to rent an apartment in wollongong. It was long this fight to find a house. And this one is perfect. In a way, the house we managed to rent was worth the wait.
Some time ago we realized that, on the same building and the same floor of R's home, where we are currently living, would be free and available to rent an apartment similar to this one. White walls, grey floor, small kitchen but modern, and perfect bathrooms. Huge balconies and protection nets on the windows so that unwanted animal life could get in already included. Last week we competed to rent the house and made the first visit. We were in love. The house was even bigger that R's. I finished the visit, Inspection how they call it, convinced that we would be able to rent the apartment. Days later, the final answer arrive: the house is ours! We can move the luggage and the bags starting Monday, August 29

In that apartment there will live four people. Me and J and two portuguese friends. In total, on the third floor of number 88 of Smith Street, Wollongong we will be seven portuguese living there. Good parties will be made. The prespectives of getting thinner are stating to dissipate. Screw it! Dividing a house is not the ideal situation, however, we opted all for doing this until we manage to gain some financial stability here. The beneficts are a lot: we share expenses, we get used to the country and the city with portuguese company and we keep a familiar envyronment to help support the missing.

A week from moving defenetly to what will be our home, we make lists. Lists and more lists. Lists of things to buy for the bedroom and for the bathroom that were destenyd to me and J, lists of things to buy for the common rooms. Lucily we all have the same tastes and it doesn't seem to me that the others will be mad before starting to live together. Lists of services like the electricity, gas and internet to hire. Curiosity: did you know that here you don't pay for water? One less worry.
